The Wailing Widow Falls are an absolute must-visit if you're around the Highlands in Scotland. It is simply spectacular, and since it's quite difficult to access you'll often find nobody else there! If you're doing the NC500 you should definitely come and check this waterfall out.

If you walk to Wailing Widow Falls from the top car park, you'll get an impressive side view of the falls! There is a loch at the top (called Gainmhich) which is where the water is sourced from.

Not far from the car park, about 15 min walk - goes through a charming gorge to a beautiful waterfall. Caution after rain, it can be slippery. Wailing Widow Falls is definitely worth a visit. – Google Review

Described by some as one of the best waterfalls they've ever seen, you definitely have to add Wailing Widow Falls to your 2023 bucket list. This gorgeous gem can be viewed either from the top of the falls, but we have to say it's absolutely stunning from the bottom!


Please take extra care when viewing from the bottom as you'll need to make your way over some slippery rocks in which you'll need appropriate footwear.
