It's been called a "hidden gem" because it’s easy to miss, even though it’s just a four-minute drive from a popular beach.
Llandudno, a favourite seaside spot for people from Manchester and Liverpool, has a big beach, a lovely Victorian promenade, and cable cars that go up the Great Orme.
While most visitors flock to the busy North Shore Beach, Llandudno has a quieter more hidden beach, with views of Snowdonia!
Hidden behind the headland, West Shore Beach is a calm cove, surrounded by rolling sand dunes, offering a peaceful escape from the busy tourist areas.
The views here are stunning, with the Conwy Estuary stretching out and the peaks of Snowdonia in the distance.
You can swim at West Shore Beach, but the water is shallow and there are no lifeguards, so it's better for paddling than proper swimming.
Many people on TripAdvisor have praised it as a 'hidden gem.' One visitor said: "A real hidden gem! Only 15 minutes from the promenade, but it feels like a different world. There’s a quiet beach and sand dunes to explore," according to the Manchester Evening News.
Another visitor shared: "This place is a hidden gem. It’s so different from the busy North Shore. It’s peaceful with just a few shops and a large sandy beach."
Next to the beach, there’s the West Shore Beach Café, a popular spot for ice creams and snacks, right by a pay-and-display car park.
The beach also has public toilets and a children’s play area. If you’re staying all day, don’t miss the sunset at West Shore Beach—it’s amazing.
Remember - LeaveNoTrace!
As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
