This remote island, with its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, feels like a world away from the UK.
Would you believe that one of Britain’s sunniest and best places for swimming in clear blue water is actually in Scotland?
This place in Scotland, often called the 'Hawaii of the North' and the UK’s 'Sunshine Island,' is one of Scotland’s most peaceful and beautiful spots.
Thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream, this little gem enjoys some of the highest sunshine levels and warmest waters in Britain.

May is especially sunny, with around 240 hours of sunshine, while June also gets plenty of sun, averaging 205 hours.
Located in the Inner Hebrides, the island can be reached by a four-hour ferry ride from Oban, making it a quiet escape compared to busier places like Cornwall or Devon.
Although Tiree is only 12 miles long, its beautiful sandy beaches give it a tropical feel.
With a small population of just 650 people, tourism plays a big role in the local economy, alongside traditional crofting and fishing.
The island is a favourite for watersports, especially windsurfing, and is home to the Tiree Wave Classic, the UK’s longest-running windsurfing competition, held every October.

Balevullin Beach, on the northwest coast, is particularly popular with surfers, thanks to its warm and welcoming waves.
Other must-visit beaches include Vaul Beach, which is known for its peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty.
Tiree’s landscape is mostly flat, with only three main hills, creating a wide-open feel with breathtaking views.
The island has plenty of well-marked footpaths, making it a great place for walking and exploring.
Wildlife lovers will enjoy Tiree, as its small population means animals like otters and seals can thrive in the unspoiled environment.
Otters can often be spotted catching eels at Loch Bhasapol, while seals love to relax on the sandy shores.

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!
Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
