The pool in the Lake District has been named as one of the best places to swim

This hidden spot is more than just a beautiful waterfall—it’s a place where nature and history come together in a breathtaking setting.

Surrounded by rugged hills and the remains of an old mining valley, it offers a glimpse into the area's industrial past while being a peaceful escape for walkers and adventurers.

The sound of rushing water echoes through the valley, especially after rain, creating a serene atmosphere that feels a world away from the busier areas of the Lake District. Whether you’re up for an easy stroll or a bit of exploration, this location has something for everyone.

Coniston Coppermines Waterfall is one of the hidden gems in the Lake District, located near the village of Coniston. It’s a beautiful spot that offers stunning views and is perfect for anyone who loves nature and enjoys a peaceful walk.

The waterfall is found in the Coppermines Valley, a place that used to be busy with mining in the past. Now, it’s much quieter, and the old mine ruins add an interesting historical touch to the area. The waterfall itself is a lovely sight, especially after heavy rain, when it becomes even more powerful and dramatic.

Once you reach the waterfall, you can spend some time exploring the area or just relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

The rocks around the falls are a great spot to sit and take in the view, but be careful if it’s wet, as they can get slippery.

Coniston Coppermines Waterfall is not as well-known as some other places in the Lake District, so it’s usually less crowded, making it perfect for anyone looking to escape the busier tourist spots. It’s also a great place to take photos or just enjoy the natural beauty of the Lake District.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
