Updated: Aug 2

For those wanting to escape the crowds this summer, this hidden bay is the ultime spot for soaking up the sunshine in peace!

This hidden gem beach in Scotland has been named among one of the best "remote and secret" bays in the UK as tourists head to the more busier bay just a few minutes down the road.

With the heatwave arriving in the UK and beach season about to get under full swing, thousands of beachgoers are still searching for the perfect beach this summer.

And while Scotland isn't most people's first choice for beach holidays, there are some amazing hidden beaches perfect for exploring in the warmer weather.

The Telegraph has rounded up "Britain's 20 best secret and remote beaches to avoid the crowds", in which one of the beaches included is the hidden gem called Clashnessie Bay in the Scottish Highlands.

Located around 11 miles to the north of Lochinver, Clashnessie Bay is only a short drive from the well-known Achmelvich Bay.

Achmelvich Bay is still a hidden gem regardless, however due to more and more people knowing about it as the months go by, maybe Clashnessie Bay is a better alternative?
