Padley Gorge is known for its cascading waterfalls, gentle streams, and gnarled trees, giving it a magical, fairytale-like feel.

The forest is made up of ancient oak and birch trees, with Burbage Brook winding through. Wooden bridges and stepping stones allow visitors to cross over the flowing water, adding to the charm of the walk.

Another walk near Greater Manchester that made the top ten list was Macclesfield Forest in Cheshire.

Remember - LeaveNoTrace!

As with anywhere outdoors, kindly keep these areas pristine and wild by taking all trash with you. The amount of complaints we have seen since the pandemic is crazy. It's really not that hard to take your rubbish with you!

Litter tends to spread, so if you see any and are able to pick it up and dispose of it outside the hidden gem, it will help keep the area tidy.
