We have two Log Cabins situated in a private orchard with stunning views of the Lakeland fells and farmland.
Thornthwaite is ideally situated for those wishing to go walking, cycling or just relaxing, with many walks and cycle routes from your Log Cabin door, including the Lakes & Dales Loop and the Bay Cycle Way.
The farm has a unique diversity of Lakeland landscape, including lowland flower meadows, ancient woodlands, rocky outcrops, streams and rivers and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, all of which our guests can explore. There is a diverse range of wildlife and fauna including rare orchids and mosses.
Thornthwaite Farm is located within easy reach of all the main Lake District attractions, however if you need to get away from it all and relax in a friendly atmosphere, our farm and Log Cabins in the Lake District are perfect.

Based in south Cumbria we have been hand-building log cabins here on the old farm site that used to house pigs, sheep, cattle & chickens. Now we house our own small Alpaca herd and a range of log cabins built to our own unique designs for over the last 20 years.
With the emphasis on eco building and natural materials you wont find any others like it as many of the furnishings, furniture are all made here on site from alpaca blanket blinds hand painted cushions and bedding or solid oak lamps and tables.
We really like to keep the feel cosy and homely where you can instantly relax in the open plan living rooms and enjoy the cosy log burners.

This single-storey cabin consists of an open-plan living space with a kitchen area with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with an ice box, dining seating for two and a sitting area with Smart TV.
There is a super-king-size bed, along with a shower room. Outside, there is off-road parking for one car and a private garden with decking, furniture, and a wood-fired hot tub, and a communal courtyard with a fire pit. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
One well-behaved dog welcomed, but sorry, no smoking permitted. Bluebell Cabin makes a charming base for exploring the countryside of Cumbria.

Fell View Cabin, is in the be as beautiful village of Cumwhitton 8 miles from Brampton and Carlisle. it started life as a single garage, now a beautiful tiny cabin, with all you need for a self-catering holiday, Smart TV you'll need to log into your own Netflix, Amazon account, as no one ve TV channels. Towels, bedding, tea& coffee.
Electric underfloor heating. The double bed was designed and made locally, especially for The Cabin, it has a good quality mattress, quality bedding and a British wool quilt.
The kitchen area has a two-ring induction hob and combination oven. sink with hot water—Swan retro fridge with a small freezer. Shower room, with large walk in shower, comfort height toilet. It's a bit quirky but with quality in mind, it's definitely a room with a view.

Thornhill Cabin is a new addition to our very private quiet and peaceful site, we have a holiday lodge which sleeps 4 people and the new Cabin which sleeps 2, both have their own private hot tub, the Cabin has all the mod cons you would expect for a lovely break away.
Very comfortable king size bed ,settee, table and chairs. Kitchen with gas hob ,air fryer, kettle and toaster. Very nice bathroom with shower sink and toilet .The Cabin is moden and nicely decorated.
